About

I have over 20 years of business and legal experience in private practice, including work as an adjunct law professor and mediator for the O.C. Superior Court.

My areas of expertise include civil litigation, real property law, labor law, family law, medical malpractice, civil rights, and contract disputes.

I have published books on Workplace Retaliation, Sexual Harassment, Whistleblower Protections, & Working Conditions (2017); Family, Pregnancy and Medical Leave (FMLA, CFRA, & PLA) (2017); Reasonable Accommodations in the Workplace (2017); Employment Discrimination & Sexual Harassment (2017); Making Babies: Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART), In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF), Surrogacy, and Embryo disputes in California and other States (2017); Workers’ Compensation (2016); and The Affordable Care Act – Shared Responsibility & Employers Mandate (2015).

My pro bono activities have included working with as a legal adviser for Jenesse Center, a domestic violence shelter, and working as a Community Supervisor for the Friendship Shelter’s TAY and PSH programs. I have also worked as a COCF Attorney for the California Out-of-State Prison Transfer Program.

I am a mental health advocate, who has completed NAMI’s family-to-family program and worked as a patients advocate for the O.C. Mental Health Association.

I have been active in local education programs serving as a H.S. Resource Teacher, District GATE Site Council Representative, School Site Council Member, Math Counts Coach, Junior Achievement Docent, Performance Arts Docent, and Hands Art Instructor.

I enjoy coaching soccer and basketball for the YMCA, AYSO and the Boys and Girls Club.

I am married to a beautiful and talented woman, who is a HR professional with a career in the entertainment industry. We have three adult children and youngest daughter is in middle school. We enjoy traveling, spending time with our family, and taking our dog out for long walks on the beach.
